Vagus Nerve Intervention

This class introduces the Vagus Nerve, its functions, and how massage therapy can produce therapeutic effects on this nerve. The importance of the Vagus Nerve has generated many discussions on disease, illness (mental and physical), chronic inflammation, and heart concerns, to name a few. Manual manipulation of the musculoskeletal system directly aligns with the Autonomic Nervous System, in which the Vagus Nerve is the key driver of that system. Following closely the medical field's research of the Vagus Nerve has birthed the BodySmith's progressive agenda, treating the body through intervention. Massage alters the unconscious function in our body, which is a powerful component in helping improve our community's quality of life person by person, and focusing on the Vagus Nerve accomplishes this very well.

This 1-day hands-on class equips learners with the knowledge and understanding of the Vagus Nerve. Along with this knowledge, we discuss and practice applying progressive techniques effectively and appropriately. We will establish a practical protocol aimed at treating target zones similar to how and where the latest medical research has led. The learning environment in this 1-day hands-on class is supportive, allowing us to refine our touch, get instant feedback, receive corrections, and improve our confidence. A perfect 1-day hands-on class to add dimension to personal and corporate practice.

Low Back Intervention

In The BodySmith Side Lying Massage course, practitioners will dive into an intense Low Back intervention program. They will learn to confidently use and enjoy the tool of Side Lying Massage, equipping them to predominantly treat Low Back pain using this technique. This class is perfect for Clinical Practitioners and those looking to enhance their confidence in side-lying skills.

Participants will gain valuable knowledge based on science. They will learn and follow The BodySmith’s protocol for pain relief and management, focusing on speed, pressure, and movement. Three techniques will be taught: Carving, Elbow Chisel technique, and Vice Gripping. Additionally, approaches involving tension/pressure, stimulation, and friction will be covered, drawing on over 19 years of experience, education, and instruction.

In this course, practitioners will assess clients’ discomfort and learn how to realign and reset muscles in the Low Back region. Controlling the speed allows for a meditation in motion approach to treatment massage, as advocated by Callan Pinckney. They will also learn and master The BodySmith’s Pressure Scale, along with reviewing body mechanics.
